Ryecastle is a farmhouse and farmstead in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, recorded without a clear period but marked on the official map to within ten metres. It may have fed horses, sheared sheep or simply given one person a roof against the western rain. The absence of a date does not empty the place; it withholds the name of the hands that built it.
