Kinloch Castle's power house still stands on Rum, a compact stone builder from the nineteenth century that kept lights burning and pumps turning through long Highland winters. It is not a grand chamber but a working room where steam, water and human effort met. The castle depended on that hidden breath of heat, especially when storms cut the island from the outside world.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Rum, Kinloch Castle, Power House as Generator House (19th Century) - (20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
