What is recorded here

Rossie Castle rose in 1800 after swallowing the older mansion, yet it vanished again before the twentieth century ended. The ground still holds brick and sandstone walls buried under demolition rubble, waiting beneath Montrose soil. What remains are early nineteenth-century stables and a late eighteenth-century icehouse, stubborn enough to prove the house existed even when its rooms stopped doing so.
