St. Modan's Parish Church in Rosneath is associated with St. Modan, a 6th-century Irish monk and missionary credited with founding a monastic site in the area. Local tradition holds that he performed miracles and established a place of healing, and the nearby holy well is believed to have curative properties, particularly for eye ailments.
