Ron Adair was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, on 2 June 1931, before carrying that Atlantic youth into Western Australian football. He defended for North Perth, Maccabeans, Azzurri, North Shore and Swan Athletic, captained Western Australia eleven times, and gave Australia thirteen appearances between 1954 and 1958. His life moved from a small Irish port to distant Australian pitches, where a young stranger became a steady hand in the game.
