The Roman Theatre at Gosbecks in Colchester is one of the largest and best-preserved Roman theatres in Britain, dating back to the 1st century AD. It was built by the Romans during their occupation of Camulodunum (modern Colchester) and reflects the cultural and civic importance of the town as a Roman capital.
