What is recorded here

This white commemorative plaque records: Foundations of the South-East angle of the Roman Fortress wall and internal tower. Built between A.D. 74 and 96. In front of the wall was a defensive ditch 9 feet deep and 20 feet wide, which is now filled in.
The Roman Fortress at Chester was a significant military stronghold built during the Flavian period to control the northwest of Roman Britain. Its defensive structure, including walls and ditches, exemplifies Roman military architecture and their efforts to consolidate power across their empire.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
