Cross of rough-hewn granite surmounts a square plinth with the inscription. It stands on three-stepped stone base with the octagonal top two steps bearing the names. The bottom step of the base is square.
The Rockbeare War Memorial commemorates local residents who died in World War I. It was erected by the community to honor their sacrifice, reflecting the widespread tradition of war memorials in rural England during the early 20th century.
