Unknown Townland holds one of three decorated stones taken from a removed ringfort in Ballinvalley, county Meath. The fort disappeared, but its stones reappeared elsewhere, carrying marks that may have guided memory, ritual or ordinary life. They are not lost because they can still be seen, touched and compared.
