Eleven small cupmarks, one with a raised edge, still mark a split granite boulder in County Carlow. The stone has been broken from its old setting and buried inside a gateway wall, yet the shallow holes remain visible at street level. They may have belonged to a boundary, a offering place, or a child’s game, but human hands certainly shaped them.
