Royal Observer Corps cold war nuclear fallout shelter and monitoring post. Operational 1961 to 1991.
ROC Post West Harptree was part of a national network of Royal Observer Corps posts established during the Cold War to monitor and report nuclear fallout. It was manned by civilian volunteers trained by the RAF and played a key role in the UK's civil defence strategy until its closure in 1991.
