This stone commemorative plaque records: Presented to the City by the 2nd Earl of Radnor .... Designed by Sir Robert Taylor, built in 1795 to replace a Tudor house damaged by fire in 1780. Recorded plaque organisation: Salisbury District Council.
Sir Robert Taylor was a prominent 18th-century British architect known for his neoclassical designs; he is remembered for significant contributions to London's architectural landscape, including the design of the Guildhall in 1789 and the King's Armories at the Tower of London.
