A peatland survey carried out in 2006 by Archaeological Development Services recorded a togher measuring in ‘width 1.9m, depth 0.15, length 3.1m’ (Whitaker 2006, 34). Described by Whitaker (2006, 34) as this ‘site was visible on the field surface 15m south-southeast of TN-BLG0013. It was composed of two roundwood longitudinal runners with overlying brushwood transverse and longitudinal elements. The site was orientated northwest–southeast and the wood was very fragmented due to prolonged exposure to machine damage. The elements measured between 0.03 and 0.7m in length and 0.04 and 0.1m in diameter. It is possible, given the structural complexity and poor condition of this site, that it was probably more substantial in antiquity. The peat was composed of poorly humified Sphagnum with moderate Calluna and Eriophorum’. Compiled by: Caimin O’Brien Date of upload: 20 August 2012
