What is recorded here

Situated in a small N-S valley with a stream just to the W. There is a small rag tree beside St Bernard's holy well (WA025-041----). Compiled by: Michael Moore. Date of upload/revision: 16th May 2011.
This site is associated with St Bernard and is linked to local traditions of healing and pilgrimage, common at many holy wells in Ireland. The presence of a rag tree suggests a long-standing custom of hanging cloths or rags as votive offerings, often in gratitude for cures or favours received.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
