What is recorded here
Mnemo records a holy tree or ritual bush in County Cavan, though human memories and formal documents have not yet named the exact spot. The place may have given birth, marriage, death or seasonal ceremony before written records arrived. It remains a live ritual landmark because the area still behaves as though people once oriented important life events around a standing feature rather than a building.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV). Currently the information for this record has not been uploaded.
