What is recorded here
Ring and Baily Castle in Mid Devon still wears its ancient shape, a stone ring around an inner chamber that waited for hands strong enough to move it. The stones may have marked a home, a watch post or a boundary for people whose names vanished before writing arrived. Walking past the remains is not the same as leaving them unchanged, because memory needs a witness to keep existing.
Ring and Baily Castle (remains) is shown as a archaeological place on the public map of Mid Devon. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
