Died on April 22nd, 1833, at Dartford, Kent. This monument is erected as an appreciation of the great inventor and his gifts to the world.

Richard Trevithick was a pioneering British engineer and inventor who developed the first high-pressure steam engine, which he used to build the first full-scale working railway steam locomotive in 1804.
