This bronze commemorative plaque records: Richard III. Within the Archbishop's palace here, King Richard III invested his son as Prince of Wales on the 8th September, 1483. Recorded plaque organisation: York Civic Trust.
King Richard III of England was the last Yorkist king of England, reigning from 1483 to 1485, and Edward of Middleham was his only son, briefly styled as Prince of Wales before his early death.
