Rhos Bay features a sea cliff composed primarily of Silurian greywacke and mudstone, formed around 440–420 million years ago through sedimentation and subsequent tectonic uplift. The cliffs are notable for their exposure of ancient marine sediments and their role in illustrating the geological history of the Welsh Caledonides.
