The Wool Exchange, constructed in 1867, served as a vital trading hub for wool during Bradford's industrial zenith, reflecting the city’s significance in the wool trade; it replaced earlier structures including Benjamin Pawson’s Market House of 1799 and an extension of the Piece Hall from 1824.
