Gateway, c.1825, comprising pair of granite ashlar panelled piers with carved (moulded) cornices, cut-granite capping, iron double gates having cast-iron finials, and section of iron flanking railings to east on granite ashlar plinth having cast-iron finials. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Woodstock House.
An appealing gateway displaying high quality stone masonry in notoriously durable locally-sourced granite while incorporating attractive iron work enhancing the artistic design aspirations of the composition.
