This blue commemorative plaque records: St Phillip Penn Fields The church was built during 1858-59 and was consecrated in July 8th July 1859 by John Lonsdale, Lord Bishop of Litchfield. The church was completely refurbished, and a first floor added, during 1996-97 and was re-dedicated on the 16th June 1997 by Keith Sutton Lord Bishop of Litchfield “This is the House of Pray, This is the gate of Heaven” Recorded plaque organisation: Church of England.
