The Sunbeam Experimental Department was pivotal in automotive engineering from 1915-1935, designing and constructing cars that set world land speed records, including the 1922 350HP Sunbeam (133MPH), driven by K. Lee Guinness, the 1925 Blue Bird (150MPH) piloted by Sir Malcolm Campbell, and the 1927 1000HP Sunbeam (203MPH) driven by Sir Henry Seagrave.
