What is recorded here

You can walk the fern garden and tarn path without entering the private castle, but the Stricklands still live inside the walls they have occupied since the fourteenth century. The garden belongs to everyone; the tower and its chambers remain a family memory made visible. That boundary is the interesting part.
The National Heritage List for England records Sizergh Castle as a registered park or garden at Grade II. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
