Ogham stone (present location) in Unknown Townland

Ogham stone (present location)

What is recorded here

An ogham stone from Dromore, Co. Waterford, now lies in County Dublin, bearing a single letter that Macalister read as D or L after excavating the burial ground of Cill Tire. The fragment escaped later lists, yet it still holds the shape of a name spoken across centuries. Someone cut that mark in water-clay soil, perhaps for a person now lost to time. The stone moved, but the act of naming remained intact.
This is the present location of the ogham stone from Dromore, Co. Waterford (WA029-042011-). A fragment of an ogham stone with one letter was found by Macalister in excavation of the burial ground of Cill Tire (WA029-042002-). It reads: D, or perhps, L (1935b, 8), but has not been listed subsequently (Macalister 1945, vol. 1, 261-5). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 13 January 2013
