Rock art in Unknown stands in County Carlow, Ireland, preserving marks made long before written history. The stones may have guided hunters, recorded births, or simply pleased the eye of a person who never expected praise. Whatever the intent, the chisel or hammer struck hard enough to survive centuries of rain and forgetting.
