What is recorded here
Hagarde Castle vanished from Galway before anyone measured its rooms, leaving only a name and a owner behind. Wm Roe Mc Hubert may have walked floors now buried under bramble or forgotten road. The absence does not diminish the castle; it sharpens the mystery. What is lost can still occupy the mind, waiting for a person brave enough to imagine it complete.
Nolan (1901, 114) records that the castle of 'Hagarde', in the barony of Kiltartan, was in the possession of 'Wm Roe Mc Hubert'. Not located.
