Not indcated

Cross-slab

What is recorded here

Not indcated is a small sandstone cross-slab embedded in the ground at the E end of St. John’s graveyard. It measures 0.33m wide, 0.23m high and 6cm thick, with an incised ringed cross whose stem is 5cm wide. The stone sits low enough to be overlooked, yet its clean line and quiet placement suggest it was set deliberately among the dead.
