What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland. A crannog is an ancient lake dwelling, often built on wooden piles or a small island. People may have lived there when lakes were busy roads and homes needed protection from weather and theft. The name sounds like a marker, as if the place still points toward something forgotten.
