Corner-sited attached four-bay three-storey house, built c.1880, with render shopfront to front (south) and two-bay side (east) elevation. Now also in use as restaurant and shop. Hipped slate roof with timber clad eaves, rendered chimneystacks, cast-iron rainwater goods and recent rooflights. Rendered walls with raised render quoins throughout. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills and pitted rendered keystones throughout having uPVC casement windows. Render shopfront comprising stall risers, chamfered plinths and pilasters surmounted by consoles, architrave, frieze and corbelled cornice. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills having fixed timber-framed display windows. Recessed square-headed door opening with double-leaf glazed timber doors and overlight giving access to restaurant. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door with brass door furniture, overlight and limestone stepped approach giving access to accommodation.
Located on a prominent corner site, this fine former house with its well-executed symmetrical façade, makes a notable contribution to the streetscape. Render keystones and quoins add interest to the façade, while the ornate consoles, pilasters and expansive display windows of the shopfront further distinguish the building.
