What is recorded here

This blue commemorative plaque records: Low Street Bonded Warehouse. Early 19th Century building. Housed a smithy making ships chains and anchors and a Marine Stores Dealers to hold goods "in Bond" to save payment of duty. Later used by George Younger (Brewer) of Alloa and from 1914, by the Rose Line Shipping Company. Restored 1997. Recorded plaque organisation: Historic Sunderland.
The Low Street Bonded Warehouse, active since the early 19th century, served as a critical site for maritime supply and storage, housing operations essential to ship outfitting and bonded goods management, and later became significant in brewing and shipping industries.
