This blue commemorative plaque records: Roker Park. Sunderland AFC's seventh ground and home to the Club from 1898 to 1997. Seven full internationals were played here including a World Cup quarter final in 1966. Sunderland brought the league title here in 1902, 1913 and 1936 and the FA Cup in 1937 and 1973 Recorded plaque organisation: Sunderland Association Football Club.
Roker Park served as the home ground for Sunderland Association Football Club from 1898 to 1997, hosting seven full internationals including a World Cup quarter-final in 1966. The stadium was pivotal during Sunderland's successful periods, winning league titles and FA Cups.
