Structure, peatland

What is recorded here

A deposit (Wth 1.02m; D 0.1m) of light brushwood and occasional twigs. The brushwood is closely spaced and regularly laid. Most of the elements run NE-SW but one piece is perpendicular to these. Directly beneath this material is a lens of gravel (Wth 0.4m; D 0.06m). The wood is in very poor condition and lies in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum.
