What is recorded here
A thin but dense layer (Wth 3.4m min.; D 0.06m) of birch, oak and ash brushwood and gorse (diam. 0.008-0.04m), laid on a bed of twigs, leaves, and gorse. Most of the wood is in very good condition with bark and leaves surviving. The site is 0.7m below the surface of the bog. The condition of the wood and common orientation and grading of the elements indicates that this is not a natural deposit.
