What is recorded here
On a gentle S-facing slope in pasture. Excavated in 2007 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road improvement scheme (Licence no. E3458). A short curvilinear trench and three post-holes representing a prehistoric shelter or the ephemeral remains of a domestic dwelling. A single pit was discovered 2.5m to the NE. The design and proximity to Late Neolithic and Bronze Age remains suggest a prehistoric date. (Jennings 2010, 241, no. 905; 2012)
