What is recorded here

Teasel Tower stands at Frogmarsh in Stroud as a round stone house that likely bleached wool with sulphur smoke before storing teasel heads used to raise cloth nap. The building appeared beside cloth mills and pin works, suggesting it served the busy hands that stretched scarlet and blue fabric on Rack Hill. Its exact birth date remains disputed, but its shape and neighbourhood point to an industrial life rather than a private castle.
