Brokencastle is a prehistoric dun and Iron Age rotary quern in Stirling, Scotland, where human hands may have ground grain or watched the valley before written memory began. The name itself admits the tragedy: a castle broken, perhaps by time, perhaps by men, leaving only a point on the land rather than a wall to touch. What remains is not a ruin for tourists but a reminder that clarity itself can collapse, and what survives is the shape of the loss.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Brokencastle as Dun (prehistoric), Rotary Quern (iron Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
