STANDING STONE in Town Parks (ballymena)

STANDING STONE

What is recorded here

In Antrim, the standing stone still points at the sky like a forgotten address. It has watched fields change, storms pass and people forget why they first marked the earth. Perhaps a family placed it to remember a loss, a boundary or a promise. The stone does not need a name to keep working.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
