Standing stone

What is recorded here

Standing stone in Meenagloghrane is a forgotten marker in County Cork, Ireland. Bowman measured it at four feet one inch high and six feet six inches around on M. O'Sullivan's land in 1934. Its exact place has been lost, but the stone likely watched fields, roads or rituals before memory faded.
One of two stones (10107) recorded by Bowman (1934, 259) on M. O'Sullivan's land, '...4ft 1in high by 6ft 6in girth'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
