Why this matters

A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.

What is recorded here

About 8m NE of the portal tomb (SL034-088----) chamber there is a slightly curved line (L c. 4m) of five stones on edge. The stones, which are not set into the ground, form an inner face to a slight bank of earth. While of uncertain age and function this feature is hardly of any great antiquity. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 61-2, no. 99) Compiled by: Archaeological Survey Unit, UCC with revisions by Patrick F. O'Donovan and Paul Walsh Date of upload: 20 June 2011
