What is recorded here

This blue commemorative plaque records: The Catherine Wheel Hotel. The Katheryne Whyll hotel, first mentioned in 1499 in the Will of Mr John Lyde, was saved from demolition in 1961 following a campaign by a group of Henley residents who later became The Henley Society Recorded plaque organisation: The Henley Society.
The Catherine Wheel Hotel, originally known as the Katheryne Whyll hotel since at least 1499, is historically significant for its preservation against demolition in 1961, an effort that led to the formation of The Henley Society.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
