What is recorded here

Mosscastle is an unassigned cairnfield in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, where scattered stones still mark a forgotten gathering place. The official point is known only within a hundred metres, leaving the true boundary hidden beneath grass, rain and time. People may have gathered there to pray, bury, feast or simply watch the sky, but no surviving name preserves their reason.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Mosscastle as Cairnfield (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
