Crossbasket is a 16th-century tower house in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, later developed into a 19th-century country house. It still stands as a layered domestic place, with older defensive form and later residential grandeur woven into one address. Whether people lived there as tenants, owners or visitors is no longer certain, but the building preserves the shape of that forgotten household life.
