Castle Qua is a medieval castle and bronze Age earthwork hidden inside the Cartland Craigs National Nature Reserve near Lanark. The name itself is a small trap, for it sounds like a grand castle while the ground may have first served as an older fort. That layering makes the site feel alive: people kept returning to the same ridge, rebuilding memory into stone and soil.
