Castlehill in Inverness is a residential area where Neolithic burning pits still lie beneath modern streets and tradition claims King Kenneth I granted the land to the Cuthbert family in the 950s. A flint axehead and Roman coin have surfaced there, linking everyday life across millennia. Castlehill House stands nearby, its older part dating probably to the late 18th or early 19th century.
