Castlehill is an east Inverness settlement where Neolithic fire still lies buried beneath modern rooms. Tradition claims King Kenneth I gave the land to the Cuthbert family in the 950s, turning a quiet hill into a clan stronghold. That ancient assertion lives beside Castlehill House, a late 18th or early 19th century building preserved for its shape rather than any fully known family story.
