Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Troni Shun as Building (period Unassigned)(possible), Chambered Cairn (neolithic)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Neolithic chambered cairn; dates to the early to middle Neolithic period (c. 4000–3500 BCE). It represents a type of megalithic tomb used for communal burial and is significant as part of Scotland’s broader Neolithic funerary landscape.
