What is recorded here

Old Howpasley stands in the Scottish Borders as a medieval tower house, its stones still catching border light. Whether it watched a road, a herd or a hostile neighbour, the height and thin openings suggest it was built to see far and admit little. That much is clear from the shape. The rest belongs to the people who lived small and alert inside it.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Old Howpasley as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
