Newton, Tower

Tower House (medieval)

What is recorded here

Newton, Tower is a medieval tower house in the Scottish Borders, still standing where human ambition first defied the sky. Its stones may have raged against storms, hidden lovers from jealous husbands, or watched border wars burn below. The tower does not need a legend because it is one, a vertical fist raised against forgetting.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Newton, Tower as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
