What is recorded here

Prickinghaugh is a possible medieval tower house in the Scottish Borders, recorded only as a point near a kilometre grid rather than a marked stone. The uncertainty itself belongs to the place, for a tower may have stood there and vanished completely, leaving behind a name that still pricks the imagination. If chambers once caught wind and held fire, they are gone now, but the border country keeps shape in memory even when building no longer answers to touch.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Prickinghaugh as Tower House (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
